Of Ink and Ivory (Prototype)
This is not the final product or demo, this is a snapshot of it early in development.
On the two halves of a secluded world are two Grand Loremasters, said to be the key to drive off an infection that has raged across this world for millennia. This infection, known as the Putrescence, lives in the deepest parts of this world. It has caused much chaos and destruction for the denizens of the land, who fight tirelessly to stave it off. Every cycle, the Putrescence rises, attempting to corrupt the land, and is met with whatever resistance this secluded society can provide. No known cycle has ever been lost to the Putrescence. This cycle, something is amiss. The Putrescence hasn't shown itself, yet it's long past when it would normally have. The Loremasters prepare for an invasion, but they do not know where or where it will start. It is up to the Lesser Loremasters to figure that out, and prevent the Putrescence from winning this cycle.
Of Ink and Ivory is a top-down RPG with turn-based combat about a medieval land governed by Loremasters, constantly keeping an infection at bay, and trying to eventually eradicate it. Play as the Sapphire Loremaster, a person who is randomly given another Loremaster's scroll and forced to return it, only to be criminalized by the Loremaster who he brings it to. Forced to kill him to escape, Sapphire does so and goes on to figure out why the scroll even turned up in his temple. Was it a cruel prank done by a villager? A small joke gone horribly wrong? Or had the Putrescence finally taken action?
